INDEPHEDIA.com - Antelope Canyon, a deep and wide valley between two cliffs cheats or commonly called a canyon. This canyon is in Page, Coconino County, Arizona, United States (US).
Antelope Canyon is a unique tourist spot formed by wind and water that eroded the Navajo Sandstone in a very long time.
The canyon area belongs to the Navajo Indian Reservation complex or the largest shelter area for the Dine Indian Tribe from North America which is commonly called Navajo or Navaho.
Flash floods and sub-aerial processes accelerate the erosion of rocks. As a result, beautiful gaps and faults were formed that were carved indirectly on the canyon wall.
Antelope Canyon is divided into two, the upper Antelope Canyon (The Crack) and the lower Antelope Gorge (The Corkscrew). Each part has a different rock fracture pattern. Locals call the Upper Antelope Gorge the "Tse 'bighanilini" or place where water flows through rocks.'
The upper Antelope canyon is 4000 feet above the river with a stone wall that rises as high as 120 feet. The lower Antelope canyon is called "Hasdestwazi" or spiral rock.
The Antelope Canyon wall can change the reflection of light from sunlight into various beautiful colors. This is what attracts the attention of tourists both from within and from abroad. Here, tourists usually come to travel, hike or camp to see the canyon directly.
In the summer, tourists can see exposure to sunlight breaking through the gaps in the canyon and illuminating the previously dark canyon gap. Local residents call this event "A God speaking from the high". (WS.IN/ENG/*)
